Evaluation

A first visit that takes 50 minutes

One prescriber, by video, with time to listen.

We ask what has been happening, how long, and what you have already tried. We go through everything you take. Then your prescriber says what they think, what the options are and what each one involves, and you decide together.

Have ready

  • Every medicine and supplement, with doses (the bottles are fine)
  • The name of your pharmacy
  • Names of other clinicians, if you want us to write to them
  • A private place, and a charged device

    Step 3: Options

What your prescriber thinks, and what each choice involves, including doing nothing yet.

  4. 04
    The last 5 minutes

    Step 4: The plan

What happens next, in words you can repeat back.

Questions

About the evaluation

Will I leave with a prescription?

Not necessarily. Sometimes the right step is a different kind of help, or waiting and watching. If a medicine makes sense, your prescriber explains it first and you decide.

Is the evaluation covered by my insurance?

It depends on your plan. Before the first visit our staff checks your plan's mental health benefits and tells you what they find. If you pay yourself, you receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing.

Will I need lab tests?

Sometimes. Some medicines call for blood work before or during treatment. If your prescriber asks for it, we send the order to a lab near you and go over the results with you.

Ask for an evaluation

We reply within one business day, and your fee comes to you in writing before the visit.
