Prescribing policy
What we prescribe by video, and what we do not
Read it before you book. If a rule is a problem for you, we would rather you know now.
A prescription follows an evaluation
We do not prescribe by message, form or phone call to someone we have not evaluated. Your first visit is an evaluation, and what comes after it is decided there.
No controlled medicine is promised
Whether a prescriber can prescribe a controlled medicine by video depends on federal and state rules, your history and their judgment. We never promise one before a visit, and some people are asked to be seen in person with another clinician.
Refills happen at visits
Your plan says when your supply ends and when your next visit is. Please book before you run low. We do not refill by message between visits.
Lost or early medicine is not replaced early
If a medicine is lost or runs out early, tell us. We will talk about it at a visit, and we do not replace it before the date in your plan.
Nothing changes without a conversation
A medicine is started, changed or stopped only after we have talked, and we say what to expect. You can ask to stop at any time, and we will tell you how to do it safely.
We say so when medicine is not the answer
Sometimes the right step is therapy, a medical check or waiting. We will say it plainly and help you find it.
Questions
About this policy
Do you prescribe controlled medication by video?
We do not promise any controlled medicine, at the first visit or later. Whether a prescriber can prescribe one by video depends on federal and state rules, your history and the prescriber's judgment, and some people are asked to be seen in person first. The prescribing policy says more.
Will I need lab tests?
Sometimes. Some medicines call for blood work before or during treatment. If your prescriber asks for it, we send the order to a lab near you and go over the results with you.
What do I do in a crisis?
Call or text 988, any time, or call 911 in an emergency. We are not an emergency service, and we do not read messages or voicemail around the clock.
