Follow-up
Short visits that keep the plan on track
About 20 minutes, by video, with the prescriber you already know.
A medicine is a plan you test over weeks. A follow-up visit is where we look at what happened: what you noticed, what changed in your days and whether anything felt wrong.
How far apart the visits are depends on what you take and how you are doing. Early on they are closer together. Later they can be spread out. Your prescriber sets the pace with you, and writes it in the plan.
What we cover
What a follow-up covers
How it is going
What you notice, in your own words, and what your days are like.
Side effects
Anything that feels wrong, however small. We say what to expect and what to report.
Doses and timing
Whether to keep, change or stop, one thing at a time.
The next step
A date for the next visit, and what to do before then.
Questions
About follow-up
What if something feels wrong between visits?
Call the office during hours, and your prescriber's team will tell you what to do. We are not monitored around the clock: if you feel unsafe, call or text 988, or call 911 in an emergency.
Can I get a refill without a visit?
Refills happen at scheduled visits, so the plan always reflects how you are doing. Your plan says when your supply runs out and when your next visit falls.
Do you prescribe controlled medication by video?
We do not promise any controlled medicine, at the first visit or later. Whether a prescriber can prescribe one by video depends on federal and state rules, your history and the prescriber's judgment, and some people are asked to be seen in person first. The prescribing policy says more.
